Keeping Florida Safe Through Trusted Screening
The Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse (Clearinghouse) is a first-in-the-nation enterprise system for background screening results of individuals required by law to undergo screening for employment in positions that provide services to vulnerable populations, as mandated by section 435.12 Florida Statutes.
It exists for one main reason: to keep people safe.
The Clearinghouse is housed and managed by the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) and is used by eight other state agencies:
By connecting multiple state agencies, the Clearinghouse ensures that anyone working with children, seniors, or vulnerable populations has been properly screened - protecting families while also reducing the costs and processing times for employers.

Since its launch in 2013, the Clearinghouse has processed more than 9 million screenings and saved providers and taxpayers over $170 million by preventing duplicate checks.

The Clearinghouse helps ensure that caregivers, health workers, and educators meet Level 2 background screening standards before they can work with children, seniors, or other vulnerable groups.

One screening can be shared across multiple state agencies. Employers receive automatic notifications if an employee's eligibility changes.
